System Flushes
Cooling System Flush
Do you know the difference between a radiator flush and a radiator draining? Flushing the radiator forces anti-freeze into the system which in turn forces out all of the old antifreeze guaranteeing your cooling system is contaminant-free and filled with clean antifreeze. Draining the radiator only removes about 50% of the dirty fluid so doesn’t result in a completely clean system.
Why Mark’s Complete Automotive recommends a Cooling System Flush:
- Removes rust and scale deposit
- Water pump lubrication extends the life of the system
- Removes contaminants
- Protects against rust and foam
- Visual inspection of the system performed with each flushing
Brake System Fluid Flush
Brake system fluid can build up with dirt and contaminants over time. Your vehicle’s intervals for a brake system flush are set by the manufacturer but can vary based on brake usage and driving habits. Typically, systems should be flushed every 30,000 miles or 2 to 3 years but if you’re experiencing poor brake performance, bring your vehicle to Mark’s Complete Automotive for a full brake inspection.
Transmission Fluid Flush
Transmission fluid helps the gears in your car or truck shift while accelerating and slowing down. Over time, this fluid gets dirty with debris and metal shavings from the gears. Keeping your transmission filled with clean fluid will help keep the parts lubricated and they will ultimately last longer and help you avoid the expense of transmission repair. It’s important to follow the manufacturer’s suggested transmission fluid flush schedule which varies by make and model. The ASE certified technicians at Mark’s Complete Automotive can inspect your transmission fluid and let you know when it is time to flush the system and replace the fluid.
Power Steering Flush
If you experience difficulty or resistance in your steering, especially when your car is cold, or if you hear any squealing or other noises when you steer, it may be time to have your power steering fluid flushed and replaced. Bits of rubber and debris can enter the steering fluid over time which causes wear on the hoses and pump of the steering system. Replacing the fluid will help keep your power steering working reliably and extend the life of the parts.
